Speed run of Adventures of Lolo 2 done during October 2003. Available in three versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60 fps high quality. Author's comments: Maybe I'm just a nerd or something, but I love logic puzzles. :) After completing a game like this for the first time, most people would probably toss it in the trash, thinking that it has no replay value. Not me! I had TONS of fun trying to optimize the paths through this game! It's also a big-time challenge to try and remember all of... Topics: Adventures of Lolo, NES
Single-segment speed run of Adventures of Lolo III done during August 2004. Available in three versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60 fps high quality. Author's comments: Whew! Didn't know what I was getting into by speed-running this one. Lolo 3 makes the other games in the series look like cake walks. There are 100 puzzles instead of 50, and you reach roughly the same difficulty level as in Lolo 2 about half-way through. Then it gets harder... I came SO close to getting a no-death game... For more details, see http://tasvideos.org/149M.html Adventures of Lolo is a puzzle game, but it is surprisingly nontrivial for TASing. This is the first publication of this game on TASVideos, but the third version by the same author, a result of much thinking about how to optimize the routes. Notes from author: In this game Lolo tries to save Lala. He's doing this by collecting every heartpiece in the room. After this a treasure chest opens with a pearl inside. If you collect this pearl a door will open and you advance to the next level. This game contains 50 of these levels, and in this movie I'm trying to complete them as fast as possible. I was actually only trying to improve the previous version by a few frames; you can play more accurate using FCEU. I didn't knew any real... Lolo 2 contains four so called PRO levels that can only be accessed by inputting a level password. This movie plays those four levels quite fast. This movie is actually a result of competition/co-operation between Baxter, Randil and Hanzou. Topics: Adventures of Lolo, NES, Emulated speedrun, Tool-assisted speedrun
Although Lolo is a puzzle game, it is surprisingly nontrivial for speedrunning, as proven by the fact that this is now the fifth version by the same author. Topics: Adventures of Lolo, NES, Emulated speedrun, Tool-assisted speedrun
For more details, see http://tasvideos.org/207M.html Eggerland is a predecessor to the NES Adventures of Lolo games, and, in certain ways, it has many more features than Adventures of Lolo 1. The author has explained the game (and the movie) very well, so we recommend reading his comments. This movie abuses a couple of the game's bugs in a surprising way.
